You should just put in $10, go and eat and drink as much as you can, and head off before they notice.

It is a tad rude, i don't think i'd do anything like that at my wedding. Probably just ask for bar tab donations, and get everyone to bring a plate.

Talking about " bringing a plate "

I'll tell you something hilarious that happened a few years back... we invited a English couple over to our place for a barbie, they said do you want us to bring anything, we said bring a plate if you like, when they arrived thats exactly what they turned up with, a plate only, with no food on it, obviously they had never heard of the expression before, they said afterwards they were wondering why the hell they needed a plate

Just because our parents were hippies doesn't mean that we are..
